  • Crossbow contest in the castle courtyard or castle ditch
    The Wernberg crossbowmen present the technique of crossbow shooting and supervise the contest. At the end of the contest, the best crossbowman is of course crowned (possible even in wet weather). This event can be linked in with a barbecue in the evening when the sun shines.
  • In the "Battle to save Wernberg Castle" you will experience an exciting escape through a tunnel, a battle to secure fresh water, rescue of the damsel in distress and lots more besides.
  • Go-karting on Germany’s largest go-kart track in Wackersdorf
  • Walks with our walking guide through the Upper Palatinate Forest with a stop for a bite to eat

  • Maiden Lena
    During your meal or between courses Lena, the articulate maiden from the village, will come to you to forecast the future for you and your guests. With lots of humour and sensitivity, our actress will attune her performance fully to your guests and entertain them with enthralling stories and findings which she reads from her runes. To do this, she sits down with you at the table and lets your guests cast the runes themselves.
  • Castle watch at Wernberg
    You can finish off your evening with Martin, the castle sentry. He collects guests to go on a torchlight tour around the castle during which he knows how to tell enthralling stories recounting the history of the castle … Before doing this, he does of course tell the group in a humorous style about the "safety precautions" at the castle and tells you all about the dangers of being “told off” in the dark Middle Ages.
  • Medieval Evening
    Enjoy a medieval vibe at a feast hosted by our castle governor Heinrich and the ambience of days gone by. We bring this to life for you! On the occasion of the impending marriage of his ward Katharina, castle governor Heinrich has invited people to a feast, and the odd knight has accepted his calling. The ultimate aim of this evening is to establish which valiant warrior should gain the hand of the beautiful Katharina.
    Witness a chivalrous battle in the middle of the festive occasion and at the end you can choose the winner of this eventful evening!
  • To boost the medieval flavour of the evening, we are only too happy to organise jugglers, jesters, fortune tellers, rune layers or musicians, and also historic costumes for your guests
  • For your celebration you can enlist the services of a pianist, who will underline the festive atmosphere. We can help you to organise this.
