Be active

Go outside and give free rein to your body and soul. On the mountain ridges you will discover the most delightful paths for jogging, riding, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Wander through forests of oak and acorn trees, or fish on the sheltered bends in the River Naab.
Fishing
Early in the morning everything is still right in the world. With your fishing rod over your shoulder, your bait in your pocket and a song whistling from your lips. You set off down to the small river in the valley below and practise the art of waiting. But not for long: the Upper Palatinate Forest is full of ponds, rivers and lakes - and they are full of fish. When in winter the snow gently covers the Upper Palatinate Forest and a deep calmness descends over the land, then the time has come. Time to be at one with yourself and with nature, time to glide over the cross-country ski runs, to find peace in the fairytale forests and reflect on what really matters.

Cycling
Experience a splendid landscape in the truest sense of the word. Follow the countless cycle paths through forests with ponds, tranquil valleys and ancient cultural land with a plethora of monasteries. Cycle over medieval market squares and past baroque basilicas, castles and palaces. Recuperate in unspoilt natural surroundings, and enjoy a hearty snack in one of the traditional hostelries right by the wayside.
Riding
At walking pace through the shady forests, at a trot over fields and meadows, in a gallop over rough and smooth terrain - are you a horse enthusiast? Then there is no stopping you now. For we can offer you plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area on horseback and to watch the world pass by without restraint from up on high.
